Did you know that the San Juan Islands of Washington State almost fell to British rule?
In the mid-1850's, Britain and America were squabbling over the ownership of the San Juan Islands (never mind the guys who already lived there, no flag no country!) Join us as we delve into the history of the formation of the Washington Territory, and the origins of all of the Spanish names around the Salish Sea. Grow outraged with Shea about the mispronunciation of places like Willamette, Puyallup and Tukwila.
